    Independent Veterinary Endorsement

As a veterinarian specialising in reproduction, I can attest to the commitment to ethical breeding practices of Hollywood Bulldogs. Hollywood Bulldogs consistently strive for conformational improvement within the breed, with a particular focus on enhancing airway health to help reduce the incidence of Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS). Their breeding program seamlessly blends both art and science, resulting in healthy, well-balanced dogs.

From a scientific perspective, Hollywood Bulldogs have taken proactive steps by testing for the ADAMTS3 gene to help minimise the occurrence of BOAS in their progeny. This approach has demonstrably contributed to the overall health and well-being of their dogs. I have been impressed by their dedication to the breed and their willingness to embrace both innovative practices and high ethical standards.

    Quick Answers

    What is a British Bulldog?

The British Bulldog is a medium-sized, muscular, short-coated breed originating in England. In Australia it is registered as the British Bulldog — the same breed searched worldwide as the English Bulldog. Modern ethical breeding prioritises airway health, sound structure and steady temperament.

Are British Bulldogs and English Bulldogs the same?

Yes. British Bulldog and English Bulldog are two names for one breed. Australian pedigree registries — including the MDBA — list it as the British Bulldog. There is no genetic difference between the terms.

Where is Hollywood Bulldogs AUS located?

Brisbane, Queensland. MDBA-registered British Bulldog program (breeder #18715), placing ADAMTS3-informed, DNA health-tested puppies with families across Queensland, NSW, Victoria and all of Australia. See our Brisbane puppies page.

    Do you transport puppies interstate?

Yes — Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra and regional areas. We use vetted ground couriers and airline-approved flight nannies. Every puppy is health-cleared before travel.

Does Hollywood Bulldogs AUS health test its breeding dogs?

Yes. Every sire and dam is ADAMTS3 tested and screened on a multi-marker DNA panel, and results are supplied with each puppy. Testing informs pairing decisions; it does not guarantee a clinically unaffected dog. Details are on the health program page.

How do I apply for a Hollywood Bulldogs AUS puppy?

Submit the enquiry form on this page or the puppy application. Applications are reviewed personally within 24–48 hours, followed by a call. Applying is free, reserves nothing, and allocation is decided on suitability rather than order of enquiry.

    Our Health & DNA Program

Airway health leads every pairing. The program is aligned with the MDBA Breeding for Health Action Plan.

    ADAMTS3 tested
    Full DNA panel
    2× vet clearances
    Enrichment program
    Lifetime support
    MDBA pedigree papers

    What we test

Every sire and dam is ADAMTS3 tested and screened on a multi-marker DNA panel covering the major British Bulldog genetic conditions. Puppies receive two independent veterinary examinations before going home.

    Why we test

ADAMTS3 is associated with airway oedema risk in brachycephalic dogs. Knowing each parent's genotype lets us avoid pairings that raise that risk in the resulting litter.

    How it informs breeding decisions

Results are recorded against each dog and reviewed before a pairing is planned. Two ADAMTS3 carriers are never mated. Structure and breathing function are also considered in the decision, alongside temperament.

    What it does not guarantee

DNA testing reduces known genetic risk. It does not guarantee a clinically unaffected dog, and it does not replace ongoing veterinary care. No puppy is represented as guaranteed free of disease or of airway problems.

Where to read the evidence: the health program, what ADAMTS3 is, clinical standards and the proof library.

    Before you compare puppies

Why breeder choice matters more than purchase price

A British Bulldog is a ten-year decision. Colour, appearance and the initial purchase price are the easiest things to compare, and the least useful. These are the questions worth asking of any Australian breeder — including us.

What health testing has been done on both parents?

Ask for the actual DNA panel results, not a statement that dogs are 'health tested'.

    What is the breathing-health strategy?

Ask which airway-related markers are tested and how results change pairing decisions.

Can you see the parents and their records?

Both parents' DNA panel and ADAMTS3 results are supplied with every puppy here.

    Who is involved veterinarily?

Our program is independently reviewed by a registered specialist in veterinary reproduction.

What happens after you take the puppy home?

Lifetime breeder support is part of the program, not an add-on.

What evidence sits behind the claims?

Testing, registration, media and program milestones are documented in the proof library.

What you receive, and how reservation works

    Included with every puppy

    • MDBA pedigree papers
    • Microchip number and registered transfer
    • C3 vaccination record and worming history
    • Two independent veterinary examinations
    • Both parents' DNA panel and ADAMTS3 results
    • Starter food and a comfort item from the litter
    • Written care guidance and lifetime breeder support

    How reservation works

    1. 1. Apply. Applying costs nothing and does not reserve a puppy.
    2. 2. Personal review and call. Suitability, timing and expectations are discussed directly.
    3. 3. Allocation. Puppies are matched on suitability, not on order of enquiry.
    4. 4. Reservation. Once a puppy is allocated to you, reservation terms, the deposit and the balance are confirmed in writing before anything is paid.

Pricing and deposit amounts are confirmed personally, in writing, before any payment is made. Register type (Main or Limited) affects price — see Main vs Limited Register and our pricing terms.

The full sequence from application to going-home day is set out on the puppy journey page, and our families shows Hollywood Bulldogs AUS dogs in their homes.

    Colour & Coat

    Colours We Ethically Breed

Colour never leads a pairing. Health does.

    Chocolate

    Rich solid brown (TYRP1).

    Chocolate Tri

    Chocolate base, tan points.

    Lilac

    Dilute chocolate. Both parents cleared.

    Merle

Only paired to non-merle. Never double-merle.

    Blue Tri

Dilute black with tan points. Alopecia screened.

Health before colour. No puppy is bred for a coat pattern. We never pair two ADAMTS3 carriers, two merles or two dilute-risk carriers. Read our British Bulldog genetics guide, clinical standards or full health & DNA program.

British & English Bulldog Puppies — FAQ

    What colours do you breed?+

Chocolate, Chocolate Tri, Lilac, Merle and Blue Tri British Bulldogs. Colour is secondary — every pairing is planned first around ADAMTS3 status, airway conformation, DNA health results and temperament.

Are British Bulldogs and English Bulldogs the same breed?+

Yes. In Australia the breed is registered as the British Bulldog; many buyers search 'English Bulldog puppies'. Both terms refer to the same breed. Hollywood Bulldogs AUS breeds British Bulldogs under MDBA registration in Brisbane, Queensland.

    Do you transport puppies Australia-wide?+

Yes. Based in Brisbane, we regularly assist families in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Hobart, Darwin and regional areas via vetted ground couriers and airline-approved flight nannies.

What health testing do you perform?+

Every sire and dam undergoes ADAMTS3 testing plus comprehensive DNA screening covering the major British Bulldog genetic conditions. Puppies receive two independent vet clearances, C3 vaccination, microchipping, a full worming schedule and MDBA pedigree papers.

    What is ADAMTS3?+

ADAMTS3 is a gene linked to airway swelling and Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) in Bulldogs. Australian research identified variants that raise BOAS risk. We test every parent and never pair two carriers, reducing the chance of airway-compromised puppies.

Main Register vs Limited Register — what's the difference?+

Main Register puppies can be shown and bred from. Limited Register puppies (pet homes) are registered pedigree Bulldogs desexed as a condition of sale and cannot be bred. Both carry identical MDBA pedigree papers and identical health testing — the register only governs breeding rights.

What age do puppies go home?+

From 8 weeks, after full weaning, temperament assessment and the second independent vet clearance. Earlier collection compromises social development and is not offered.

What is included when collecting a puppy?+

MDBA pedigree papers, microchip transfer, C3 vaccination record, worming history, parental DNA panel results, starter food, a comfort item from the litter and lifetime breeder support from Nick and Sheila.

How much is a British Bulldog puppy from Hollywood Bulldogs AUS?+

Price depends on the litter and on whether the puppy is placed on the Main or Limited Register. Pricing is confirmed personally and in writing before any payment is made, so families can weigh health testing, register type, documentation and lifetime breeder support rather than a headline number in isolation.

Why don't you publish puppy prices online?+

Published numbers invite comparison on price alone, and puppy pricing in Australia varies with register type and litter. Pricing, deposit and balance terms are confirmed in writing before anything is paid — there are no hidden costs introduced later.

    How are puppies allocated?+

By suitability, not by order of enquiry or deposit. Nick and Sheila match each puppy's temperament and needs to the household best suited to them. Waitlist families are contacted before any litter is made public.

Does health testing guarantee a healthy puppy?+

No. ADAMTS3 testing and DNA screening reduce known genetic risk and inform which dogs are paired. They do not guarantee a clinically unaffected dog and do not replace ongoing veterinary care. No puppy from this program is represented as guaranteed disease-free.

What support do buyers receive after taking a puppy home?+

Written care guidance at handover and lifetime breeder support from Nick and Sheila — feeding, heat management, training questions and health queries, for the life of the dog.

    What happens after I apply?+

Your application is reviewed personally within 24–48 hours, followed by a short call to discuss suitability and timing. If the fit is right, your preferences are recorded against the waitlist. Applying does not reserve a puppy and involves no payment.

How do I join the waitlist?+

Complete the enquiry form on this page or the waitlist application. Nick and Sheila personally review every application within 24–48 hours. Waitlist families receive first access to upcoming litters, and allocation is based on suitability rather than order of enquiry.
